Nomsa’s first job was at Impala Platinum Mine at Shaft 6 as an Equip Helper underground in Rustenburg and after years of growing and moving within different companies she is now an Events & Operations Manager at a Media Company in Johannesburg and has been a part of, and successfully worked on #FillUpTheDome, #FillUpOrlando and #FillUpFNB by Hip Hop artist Cassper Nyovest. She has also event managed several Premier Soccer League games under Mpumalanga Black Aces while it was in the PSL and Old Mutual Mangaung Cup which was a one day tournament that consisted of various PSL teams. In 2017 she was nominated for the Forever Eagles Awards under the Professional Conference Organizer category.
On her hopes and dreams, Nomsa says that she hopes that the Hospice she regularly donates to in Viljoenskroon will receive sufficient funds to be able to look after the orphans on a full time basis as they currently only offer day time care. “I can imagine how sad it must be every time the kids have to go back home to their empty, cold homes and also spend weekends away from the hospice where they receive care, food and warmth.” On dreams she says her dream is to see more girls from Vijoenskroon having bigger dreams and aspirations and having the determination to go out there and chase those dreams so that they are able to empower one another for a better Viljoenskroon.
“Once Viljoenskroon is developed by powerful women then our society can be a better place. There are so many girls from Viljoenskroon that think that they can never go anywhere in life, that nothing is possible beyond what they currently know and that all they can ever do is dream and never reach the dream.” One of her other dreams is to host a concert that consists of international artists because she believes that she has paved the right foundation for herself having been involved in filling up 3 venues with a local artist, that were previously only known to have been filled up by international artists.
It is undeniable that Nomsa is a go getter and a hard worker. She has managed to stand her ground in a male dominated industry and she has been a part of 3 events that have made history in South Africa, which is why we think she absolutely ROCKS!!
