Today we are profiling Tshegofatso Mokalake, mostly known as “Wensey”. She is a 25 years old and was born and bred in Bloemfontein. Wensey is currently completing her LLB degree at the University of The Free State and striving towards becoming a lawyer one day. Apart from being a student, she is the owner of an Events Planning company called ‘Harvenly Events’ in Bloemfontein.
Given everything that is happening in our country, “I was driven by the fear of being part of the unemployed graduate’s statistics after finishing with Law school, so I saw a need to start my own business, work hard and start building something for myself”.
Harvenly Events was established in February 2020, It is a full-service and professional event planning company that specializes in drive-by baby showers, normal baby showers, kids and adults’ birthday parties, bridal showers, and gift packages. The company’s commitment is to help clients to plan and manage their dream events from start to finish while keeping the goals, vision, budget, and client’s needs in mind at all times.
As a student hunger for success is what’s driving her. It is not easy but she has made a decision. A decision that she wants to become a strong independent woman who earns multiple income. “I always make sure that I’m always on track or upfront with my school work so I can have enough time to keep my clients happy”. Wensey is a strong believer of black women doing it for themselves, standing in their own power and never stop striving and working hard to be better every day.
Harvenly Events is passionate about transforming spaces that are not only unique but also luxurious. Their target market is literally anyone who would like to achieve any kind of deco for their event. Harvenly’s promise to their clients is outstanding service from start to finish. They plan, manage and execute every detail of your function with finesse and flair. Wensey’s ultimate goal is to become the greatest wedding planner in South Africa and provide clients with exceptional service.
As an entrepreneur, “I think you end up learning certain things through osmosis like managing difficult customers and creating value for your clients to remain their supplier of choice. I didn’t know I learned any of this until now”. With that being said, since February 2020, she has seen her business grow from one level to another even during a pandemic, and she is really grateful to God. Her journey has just started and her best moments are definitely ahead and will keep her going. Starting out is not easy but worth it.
This is what Wensey had to say “every decision we make either moves us closer to our dreams or further. Our lives are a perfect reflection of our choices and we take that for granted”. You will never regret trying, you will never regret testing out your ideas, you will never regret doing something to better yourself and your life but you will regret all the chances you chose not to take.
