Today we are celebrating the authentic, enthusiastic, and vibrant Laila Nnyane, she was born in Thaba ‘Nchu 60 kilometers away from Bloemfontein, and later moved to Bloemfontein when she was about 13 years old, and she attended Brebner High School. Thereafter, in 2004 she studied BA Integrated Marketing Communication at the University of Free State. Over the course of the years, she has done countless things and keeps on accomplishing more, from being an Artist manager, broadcaster, MC, and a Station Manager

Laila performed several tasks in rapid succession over the past 15 years she has been on the radio. For instance, being a music Resource Manager, Media Manager, and Spokesperson among other things. Her journey in radio kept on flourishing as she moved from a campus-based radio station to a community radio station that reached more audiences, she was part of the Med FM team and Motheo FM’s team. She has presented the Breakfast show and the Afternoon Drive amongst others.

Apart from radio she loves training and developing young people, she was among the team that organized the Take-Up Space campaign that brought 50 young girls from the Free State to meet Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi at OR Tambo International Airport when she arrived in the country, after being crowned Miss Universe in December 2019. Laila also manages artists, such as LeGoody and Immortal to name a few. She is doing an exceptional job by bringing the youth together, and she continues to inspire the youth because she is relatable. She understands how important it is to realize your dreams as a child because during her childhood that it when she discovered that she wanted to work in show business, anything in the entertainment industry as she was inspired by celebrities, the news, and everything related to media.

Her greatest strength currently is finding herself and letting go of the negative things that have been holding her back and she is embracing self-love, she has finally been able to stop being a people’s pleaser, and her weight loss journey helped her as she was struggling with weight. She believes that the injustices women are subjected to currently are somewhat changing even though the process is slow, but we should acknowledge that it is happening.

To help the system we as women we should make change by living our genuine and honest lives, in that way we may be able to help others. She mentioned that it is not easy because the society has played a part in creating insecurities in among young women and lack of confidence, a lot of young women are afraid of trying out new things because society does not allow or condone being free.

In conclusion, Laila Nnaye is an inspiring woman who is living her truth and continues to urge other young people to do so themselves, nothing is impossible if you set your mind and heart on it. She is taking up space and nothing is stopping her.
