Rebaone Diphoko is a humble, passionate and optimistic young lady who was born and bred in the city of roses, Bloemfontein. She was raised by her maternal grandparents with the support from her father and aunts after the death of her mother in 2004. Rebaone is currently doing Grade 11 at Hoërskool Bloemfontein.
She is an artistic soul that is driven by her passion for women empowerment and pageantry. In 2017 she was crowned as the 1st Princess for the Miss Teen Plus Size Is Me Free State pageant. In 2018 she was acknowledged as one of the National Top 10 Finalists for the South African Dream Ambassador pageant. She currently holds the Miss Teen Free State 2019 2nd Princess title.
Rebaone’s road to success was not an easy one while pursuing her passion for pageantry. She was faced with a lot of discrimination and body shaming in the process and was often told to stay in her lane as pageantry was supposedly not for her or women like her and this was when Stock’o Sa Lefura was born. Rebaone explained that the movement is aimed at addressing what the media and society portray as beautiful while empowering the girl child and equipping her with tools that will help her become the best version of herself. More than anything it encourages young girls to believe in the power of their dreams and to do whatever it takes to make sure that they achieve them.
At only 16, Rebaone’s goal is to make a difference in the lives of many women, especially those that society frowns upon. She is inspired by a number of women including Dipalesa Mbola, Candy Smith, Nthabiseng Jafta, Manko Buffel and Mabontle Mphosi. “These women are trailblazers and revolutionaries in their own right” she added. She draws inspiration from the above-mentioned ladies not only because they are revolutionaries, in their own right but because they are making their voices heard in their different industries and that is what inspires her most. She also mentioned that she is inspired daily by Relebohile Rampeta and Sivuyile Nogabe. Rebaone is truly a girl’s girl.
When asked about her aspirations and goals she replied, “more than anything I want to build the Stock’o sa Lefura revolutionary movement into a household brand and launch all my other projects under the brand”.
She also mentioned that would like to study Psychology as it is something she is very passionate about, and she will work very hard to achieve her goal.
