About BGR Foundation

Bloem Girls/Guys Rock Foundation  is a non-profit organization based in Bloemfontein, Free State, the city of roses. We provide underprivileged young boys and girls in the townships of Bloemfontein with literacy and computer skills, we also have an initiative to restore the dignity of the youth by providing them with selfcare packages and toiletries. BGR Foundation runs an annual campaign for Nelson Mandela Day where we raise funds, so we are able to buy school shoes for some of the disadvantaged scholars in the schools situated in various townships camps in Bloemfontein.

We have a blog that features stories of success from all parts of the Free State, stories of women and men that have made it and thriving in their respective fields despite the odds being against them. Not only do these stories shine a light on the many talents and gems found the beautiful city and province but they also inspire our young boys and girls to want to achieve greatness in life. By inspiring the youth, we plant a seed of hope and enthusiasm for the future that can often be blinded by some unsavory circumstances.

The foundations vision is to show young boys and girls from underprivileged backgrounds that circumstances do not define their future and by hard work and determination they are able to change their lives for the better, we also want to show them that there are women and men who come from similar environments and challenges that have done amazing things in the Free State and all over the world.
